Browser Extension Privacy

This page explains exactly what the ReelNotes browser extension does with your data. It supplements our full Privacy Policy, which governs the ReelNotes service as a whole.

1. What the extension is for

The ReelNotes extension lets you save links to your ReelNotes library from your desktop browser, and lets you connect your Instagram account in one click so ReelNotes can fetch the reels you save.

2. What it accesses, and only when you ask

• The page link you choose to save — sent to your ReelNotes account when you click save. Used to create the save.
• Your instagram.com session cookies — read only when you explicitly click “Connect Instagram”. They are sent over HTTPS to your ReelNotes account and stored so ReelNotes can fetch the specific reels you choose to save, acting on your instruction. We never ask for, see, or store your Instagram password.
• Your ReelNotes connection token — stored locally in the extension to link it to your account.

The extension does not read your browsing history, track the pages you visit, inject ads, or collect analytics. It reads instagram.com cookies only at the moment you connect, and only those cookies.

3. What we do with it

The link is turned into a saved note in your library. The Instagram session is used solely to fetch the content you ask us to save and is never shared with any third party. You can disconnect at any time, which deletes the stored session immediately. Full detail, including subprocessors and retention, is in the Privacy Policy (see section 4).

4. Your control

Uninstalling the extension stops all access. Disconnecting Instagram deletes the stored session. Deleting your ReelNotes account removes your data per the Privacy Policy.
